CCR designed and implemented a cargo plane route planning system
for the U.S. Postal Service. The system, called AirNet, is currently in use at the Postal
Service's Operations Center in Washington, D.C. and enables planners to optimally schedule shipments
of mail over a network of Post Office-owned aircraft and commercial aircraft.
AirNet uses a customized optimization algorithm to search among all the possible routings between
U.S. postal centers and selects the least expensive routing given various constraints.
