An open-source solution maintained and supported by CCRi for storing, indexing, querying, transforming, and visualizing spatio-temporal data at scale in Accumulo.
Spatio-Temporal Indexing in Accumulo
GeoMesa’s novel indexing schema enables efficient spatio-temporal queries resulting in rapid access to large data stores for any client application. Its flexible structure adapts to different spatial and temporal resolutions making it suitable for everything from a small town to global coverage. The index evenly distributes data across resources to maximize parallel query processing.
The index scales horizontally as new hardware resources are added to Accumulo. Fast write performance supports high velocity data streams.
GeoMesa implements GeoTools interfaces including DataStore, FeatureSource, and FeatureReader. This implementation hides the details of the persistence implementation from application developers. This abstraction allows developers to plug-in PostGIS or Accumulo backends with minimal impact to application code.
GeoMesa has plugins for GeoServer to expose spatial data as WMS or WFS services directly from Accumulo. This facilitates out-of-the-box integration with a wide variety of existing OGC compliant clients.
