The winter 2019-2020 issue of c-biz magazine features a cover story titled “Workplace Wellness” that described employee wellness options at several forward-thinking Charlottesville area employers. The article’s author interviewed the chief human resource officer of electronics retailer Crutchfield, the human resources coordinator of the Charlottesville City Schools, and CCRi Director of People Operations & Brand Strategy Julia Farill about offerings at each of these organizations.
Among other CCRi perks, Julia told c-biz about our on-site grilling, company massage chair, the availability of walking trails at our next door neighbor Charlotte Yancey Humphris park, discounts at local gym and yoga studios, and our two employee assistance programs.
The article also discussed CCRi’s support for it’s bicycling employees, who range from casual participants who occasionally bike for exercise to serious Tour de France fans who bike to work every day. As the article quotes Julia,
“We have an area set up to be able to work on your bike, so if you ride in as a commuter you can bring your bike in. And we have an indoor bike parking area and a little table set up that has a bunch of bike tools so you can work on it. We also have a couple of loaner bikes if people wanted to go out for lunch or something like that.”
A wonderful surprise for us was to see the cover of this issue of the magazine, which is available at magazine racks around Charlottesville. It features CCRi co-founder and president Don Brown and software engineers Jeff Glenn and Mary Beebe. A picture accompanying the article inside the magazine included the three of them and several more of their co-workers preparing for a group ride under the beautiful fall leaves of our the park next door.
You can read the article online, and you can learn more about why CCRi is a great place to work on our website’s jobs page and by contacting us if you are a data scientist or a machine learning, devOps, or UI/UX software engineer. We’d love to tell you more!Share this post:
